Short Courses - Frequently Asked Questions
-
You book by completing a short form via the ALMA website
-
If places are still available you can book up until the day before the course starts.
-
There is a member and non-member price for each course. Prices are available on the website.
-
On submission of the booking form, ALMA will issue an invoice which must be paid in full prior to the course in order to secure your place. You will also be sent a Welcome email, confirming the booking along with details of the venue and timings.
One week before the course starts you will receive joining instructions. This will give you details about the learning materials, depending on whether you have requested printed material or a digital version, together with a reminder of the venue, timings and dress code and any other details we feel you need to be aware of.
-
ALMA payment terms are 30 days from the date of the invoice and, in any event, the invoice must be settled in full before the start date of the course.
-
When booking you can choose either printed or non-printed course material.
You therefore have a choice as to whether you wish to pay to have a set of printed course materials given to you on the first day of the course or whether you wish to pay less for the course and receive the course material digitally.
The option to have printed material will not be available for anyone booking within one week of the course start date.
-
Courses are currently held in both London and Leeds at different times of the year. Location details are available on the website and included in your joining instructions.

At ALMA, we want to encourage open discussion and debate. To this end, all the Short Courses will be held under the Chatham House Rule. This means that you are free to use the information discussed by anyone on the course but you are not allowed to attribute comments to them or their organisation. Please note that no recordings (either audio or visual) may be made during any part of the course and the slides may not be reproduced for any public purpose or shared with anyone external to your organisation. Any student found not to have followed this request may be asked to leave the course and may be excluded from future ALMA events.
